Getting around in Valencia Public transport

Public transport Valencia, metro and bus network Like any modern metropolis, the city of Valencia is very extensive.
And like many historic cities, Valencia turned its back to the sea which is just over 3 km. Therefore Valencia has equipped itself a large network of public transport of buses as well as metro and trams.

The bus is certainly the most enjoyable and economical way to get around the town.

The Valencia bus network has 46 scheduled daily routes and 12 during the night. In the summer time, there are four additional lines to go to the beach.

Information

A single ticket bought in the bus costs 1,50 €.
It is much cheaper to buy a rechargeable card (Bonobús, tarjeta Mobilis).
A "Bono" is a card of 10 tickets.
- Bonobus: 10 journeys for 7,50 € + 2 € for the card
- Bono Transbordo (connection with the metro within 50 minutes) Zone A (Valencia city) 10 journeys for 8,35 € + 2 € for the card
- Reductions for numerous families, retired people (jubilados), groups.
Points of sale
Tobacco shops, newsagents and newspaper kiosks, Opencor stores that have the advantage of being open daily until 1 or 2.

VLC Tourist card

Another alternative for a short touristic stay, the VLC Tourist Card. The advantage of the VLC Tourist Card is that it offers free public urban transport within Valencia city (zone AB) that includes the airport. The VLV tourist card also offers discounts at major tourist attractions such as the Biopark, the aquarium (Oceanografic), a ride on the Valencia Tourist Bus tours or guided visits.

MetroBús

MetroBús is a interurban network of 45 bus routes provided by 8 major bus companies based in the community of Valencia (Auvaca, Avsa, Autocares Buñol, Autocares Herca, Edetania Bus, Fernanbús et Alsa). The buses are yellow in order not to be confused with Valencia red buses.
Besides, they are popularly called "autobuses amarillos" (yellow). They serve towns of the valencian community which are not accessible by the train or the metro network.

Tourist destinations such as El Saler Beach, the natural park of Albufera, campsites such as Coll Verde San Pascual, Las Palmeras and Devesa Gardens are operated by the company "Autocares Herca" and served by lines 190 and 290.

Metro (Metrovalencia)


Valencia metro has 5 lines (soon 7), that crosses the large suburb from north to south, east to west. The network is divided into 4 fare zones A, B, C and D (Manises Airport is located in the zone AB). The tram network is part of Metrovalencia. They extend subway lines on the outskirts of Valencia. Line 4 is a tram line. (See Valencia metro map).

- Zone A (Valencia) single ticket : 1,50 €, return: 2,90 €,
Bonometro for 10 journeys: 7,20 €
- Bono Transbordo (Connection with a bus within 50 minutes) Zone A 10 journeys: 9 €
- Zone ABCD (Airport) Single ticket 3,90 € - Return: 7,40 €

Individual tickets T1, T2, T3

For visitors and tourists planning to use quite a lot public transport in a short period, individual tickets T1, T2, T3 (1, 2 or 3 days for respectively 3.90, 6.60 and 9,60 €) is the ideal solution.

This single ticket gives access to the whole public transport network in Zone A (underground, tram and bus) with an unlimited number of journeys.

Ticket is valid one year from the date of purchase.
